From the morning news:
The catastrophic mistakes that led to the doomed DC plane crash

Not waving the Black Flag, but did vent to myself last night about
the looming tariffs issue:
This is sheer madness: adding tariffs on American goods sold in
Canafa, on top of enduring that the US is putting tariffs on our goods
sold in the US and thus hampering sales. A DOUBLE whammy to our
finances. Leave bad enough alone. No retaliatory tariffs from Canada!
As for strengthening our borders against illegal entries to the US. It is not illegal
IN CANADA to enter the US illegally. If the US expects help on this from us, it is a
friendly gesture on our part. And we seem headed for those 25% Ts anyway.
What...
There is an agreement about refugees, that the country in which these land should
document them. That's it!!
As for the US Trade deficit from Canada, things got this way during the pandemic because
Canadians stopped visiting the US, and going South in the winter. And given the sad
state of our dollar, alledgedly because of political instability since our leadership is now in
something of a panic, how can that improve allowing us to resume our short sanity forays
toward sunny climes. Bad news all around; for both countries...
And let us not romantisize history; the 19th Century and its tariffs are
well gone. President McKinley, who used them with some success, died
at the hands of an Anarchist. Government had gotten too overbearing!

The CBC has taken to covering the Mark Carney campaign for the Liberal leadership.
Less nerve-wracking than retaliatory tariffs...
