Iteration

I can alter func2, in favour of a tuple:

For iteration, I must alter the wrapper:

Python random knows my weakness for carbs. Below:

Below, random shuffle gives more acceptable results:

Ongoing

Not loosing hope of getting a complete tkcalendar widget working. Solved

the rpoblem of getting a datetime date without the time, necessary for date

recognition:

Am also altering the calevent tags dynamically:

                                                                       *     *     *

Decorator

So what is a 'wrapper' or 'decorator' function in python. This is actually

considered a pretty advanced topic; I would guess, because only someone

with an advanced problem would think of using this. In point of fact,

it is not all that difficult to understand.

The core concept is one function calling another as its functionality. Below,

all that function2 does is call another; in this case, function1.

Here, function1 defines another 'wrapper' function, added onto whatever

it is the invoqued function - function2 - does. Function2 is said to be  'decorated' with

function1 ie cannot run without it.

Below, a use case, where the developer might wnat to know how long it takes

for function 2 to run...

Wrapper

So the next thing to do  is ask for help. I am working on the tooltip aspect, thus:

Two interesting topics come back: tooltip and tooltipwrapper. A wrapper

function is one that extends the functionality of an original, but without

altering is. Like, for example, giving the time taken for execution of the original...

Minor_Prob

The advice to print the directory of modules is helpful. It gives me

an inventory of features of tkcalendar and Calendar.

Helas, I am stuck on a minor problem: Getting the print function to show

the output in useful 5 item lines, with coma separation.

Solved it for myself. First, for tkcalendar:

Then, for Calendar:

Corrections

Halloween is over, and I had a particularly bad case of it

this year ie the need to express myself with dark and eerie themes.

I did it on my blog, I felt a compulsion to do it. But when it came

time to actually get dressed up and go out on the actual day, I did nothing.

Just went out to walk and shop as ever. It's Halloween everyday when

you are old ie no longer projecting youth and vigour, but some bits of decay.

I wasn't alone in this; I don't think I saw a single person costumed on

that day...How Strange!

In a large sense, it did make me realize something. The fat phobia discussion

is as urgent as ever on the internet, but it is a loosing proposition. Not that

fat is particularly repulsive, but it does give one a sense of something out

of norm, and that's the whole point. Humans are a species and constantly

'correcting' each other: 'a proper human monkey doesn't look like that'. and this

can apply to any feature, bulging eyes, funny nose, large feet, teenie waist,

posture. All fodder for the corrections machine.

Not that there is a standard model, but we all seem to be pushing toward

establishing one., not always with congruent results. Fine, I'll take it with a

smile. Although I even had a teacher once correct me for smiling way too much,

and making me practice a straight face.

See you next year 😼

Looks Like

Feeling silly here: just watched a really interesting video on Jupiter's

Great Red Spot: an ongoing cyclone on Jupiter's Southern Hemisphere, and

can't find it anymore. NASA just published what they're finding about it.

In all the excitement, finally got clear in my own mind what the difference

is between a cyclone and an anti-cyclone. A cyclone evacuates heat; so a

hurricane is a cyclone. In the Northen Hemisphere, it runs in a counter-clockwise

direction and just looks anti-cyclonic!!! Fancy that!
