While all good fun, and undoubtedly a successful money-raise, the
Met Gala is also a primer on why celebrities shouldn't dress themselves. It
is everybody working it from their personal blind spot. A petty argument,
I know, but it deserves to be said. Those American fashion designers being
celebrated did a lot work finding/imposing beauty where it was not evident.
That was part of their job.
