British politics are going to get glum again, with the
departure of Boris Johnson. I used to really enjoy blond lady
journalists from the left taking him down... with every
column!! Is two and a half years in power really such a short
stint. Winston Churchill himself - Mr Johnson's school-days hero - was
the man to steer England through World War 2, but never appreciated
in electoral politics in subsequent years. Mr Johnson will be remembered as
the Premier who got Brexit done, at a time which soon became perillous,
with the pandemic and now war in Ukraine.
On the Ukraine question, Mr Johnson was well appreciated as the most solid
of all in standing up to this Russian invasion. One cannot help but wonder what
a change in leadership for the UK signals on this front.
