Synfig

Downloaded synfig, which is an open source animation
editor. The great attraction here is that it permits one to
do tweening: an animation where one defines the first and last
frame, and the computer does the work in-between.

Below, the demo animation. The red ball moves from left to right
and back again in a few seconds.

Animation is a lot of work, nonetheless!
