Illiberal

Saturday morning, and I am munching on grapes and reading

about research on the helium nucleus. Where should I go blouse

shopping today; I can't keep up with this unusually cool and rainy

summer.

Then it struck me: there are folks in Russia and Ukraine not enjoying their

week-end. And there are theoretical reasons for it: governments that can't solve

disputes can just resort to war. Long drawn out ones, of attrition. Why should a

theoretical impasse in the field of politics impact so many lives for the worst. Very

illiberal, that.

Maybe territories that are in dispute could be just FROZEN. The international community

takes over until a sane solution is found. Better than what we have now...
