I am somewhat pre-occupied by recurrent articles on how President Joe Biden

is showing his age, and many are arguing he may not be an appropriate candidate

for 2024.

                                                   


Let us review what the notion of life expectancy is: a statistical construct

of health statistics for the year. Should our 80 year old encounter all the conditions

that prevailed in that year for those older than he is, he would live to 87.7.

Thus, not really a prediction but still interesting.


 American elders tend to have an easier time of it than many in other parts of the

world. And one can still benefit from their direct experience of historical events

and government response!!
