France has a new Prime Minister, Michel Barnier. The very person who negotiated
Brexit for the Eu. A long-standing figure in the French middle-right, he wanted to be President
of the Republic in the race against E. Macron.
Not guessing what might happen next, I was struck by how one of his remarks sparked
ourage in his inaugural speech: saying ordinary people might have powerful suggestions
for policy, Even, "les gens d'en bas" ie the people downstairs. For reference:
