EXIM

Came across a fascinating post last night, about how Florida's economy is helped

thanks to government aid.  Normally, I wouldn't really notice, but we are currently

threatened with stiff tariffs by our Southern neighbor unless we stop all subsidies

'unfair' to American business. We do need some clarity in our own minds as to what

is being talked about.

The US Constitution is different from the Canadian. It defines a federated union of Independent

States whereas Canada - as a historical colony - is more of a unitary State with devolved

powers to Provinces. Taxes and transfers will be different and we need to be thorough and

clear as negotiations proceed...

"What is the US Import Export Bank?

The U.S. Export-Import Bank (commonly referred to as EXIM Bank) is a federal government agency that helps American businesses compete globally by providing financial assistance. Its primary mission is to support the export of U.S.-made goods and services, particularly in cases where private sector funding isn't available or is insufficient.

EXIM Bank does this by offering loans, loan guarantees, and insurance to both exporters and international buyers. This enables U.S. companies to engage in global trade, even in challenging financial or political circumstances. By facilitating these exports, the bank supports American jobs and strengthens the nation's economy.

For example, in Florida alone, EXIM Bank has financed $7 billion in exports from hundreds of companies since 2014, helping them maintain a competitive edge on the international stage. Let me know if you'd like more details on its role or functions!"

Today is the Spring equinox, so it is finally Springtime!! This past winter ended up

being pretty brutal with extreme amounts of snow. Daughter Lyse's Birthday is March 19,

so the coming of Spring is a joy for me every year.

Was reading about Julius Caesar and the Ides of March (the 15th). Not a happy day for him:

he was assasinated when it became clear he intended to not relinquish leadership

of Rome. But the Julian Calendar, by which we still live, was established under his

leadership.

Julius Caesar was born 100 BC.
