According to a piece in the Guardian, we in Montreal don't really need
air conditioning because average highs are at 80°F. Funny thing, many
of us feel averages are of little comfort when we experience heat waves
like this summer with daily highs at 36.5°C (that's 97.7°F)!! Health authorities
are advising the elderly to hit the mall a couple of hours for relief, and
I am noticing increasing numbers of AC units hanging out of bedroom
windows.
