Problématique

 Congratualtions to Pierre Poilievre for his resounding victory - at 80% of

the vote - in the Alberta by-election. He said he had a good time campaigning

out West. It's leaving Ottawa, great for mental health!!

Inflation apparently came in at 1.7% in the July reading. Somebody should tell

the local food markets; they never got the memo...

It's getting to be an obsession with me (and half the internet): what is going on with 

Vladimir Putin. He is talked about as a dictator, which implies great personnal power 

and discretion. My feeling is that it is the exact opposite that is happening in Russia. 

The leadership has virtually no leeway for compromise, having lead public opinion

to expect victory, and enforced it socially. Might be spending the day on this problématique.
