While it is true that advanced mathematics can get pretty intense, we
now have the great advantage of computers to calculate and graph for us.
Had an afternoon of play on Desmos, trying to see what is going on in higher
term equations...
Clear in my mind: it is the integer term that determines whether there is a root
initially, but then additional roots appear multiplying through with x.
Sliders are invaluable. Enter an a term and press a on the keyboard. A slider should appear.
There is symmetrical behaviour functions between the twoin the positives, but not in the negatives.
It is good practice to state our functions as y = whatever, because things might be
very different on the complex plane.
