Every year I look forward to it: the 14th of July fireworks from Paris
invariably spectacular. And this year they made the jump to drones, on
the Chinese model. It was marvelous. Petit bémol for someone watching
all this the morning after, with a cup of coffee. The crowd goes wild with
every new tableau, so the sound track carries a lot of cheering .😀🎶😳

Made a carrot cake dessert to mark the day: the classic recipe with pineapple and nuts.
Couldn't find the cream cheese frosting that is supposed to go with it, so made the Martha
Stewart one that uses butter as well as cream cheese. That cake was rich and could only
be eaten in small portions...
Also showing the gizmo I ordered from Amazon to open pistachio nuts. Works although
those completely closed nuts are still challenging!!
