Potato(2)

The Solitary Diner special for today: hachis Parmentier. A variant on sheperd's Pie (no mutton in these parts), a hachis is something ground, and Parmentier is the 17th century Chef who thought potatoes had a future in the diet of Europe...

The basic notion is to put mashed potatoes on top of something that has a bit of a sauce; here I had tomato as part of the vegetables so I put in some tomato paste and water. Instant sauce. Very little meat, hamburger. I have been abstinent of meat most of the summer, and it gives my skin a funny smell when I eat it.( Lol)
