The Interview

Here it is, the Tucker Carlson interview of Vladimir Putin. I should be doing

my taxes, today, but I am hooked into watching this.     (2 hours++)

The Economist gave a poor review to Mr C for his work, here. But he is a pro and

knows he himself is not the star, but the person he is interviewing.

As for Vladimir Putin, he is not Caligula but rather someone sitting on a bureaucracy

and answerable to public sentiment as are other leaders in our world.

Yesterday's Super Bowl ended up being dramatic, and the favorite San Francisco

49ers, were eventually defeated in overtime.  All in all,  Kansas City had taken 3 since

2020. Didn't watch the game, but checked the score periodically.

A little research informed me that the Super Bowl - the Stanley Cup of football -

is called a 'Bowl' because the shape of the stadium is roughly circular.

Is the CIA known to have intervened in Ukraine

Yes, the CIA has been involved in Ukraine, although the extent and specifics of their intervention remain somewhat secretive. Here are some key points:

  1. Clandestine Operations: The CIA plays an outsize role in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. They act as primary spies, negotiators, suppliers of intelligence, and logistic coordinators. Their goal is to ensure that the war does not spiral out of control1.

  2. Weapons and Assistance: According to various sources, the CIA has been shuttling weapons into Ukraine using a “gray fleet” of commercial aircraft. They also send personnel on secret missions and assist Ukrainians with new weapons and systems. Poland serves as a clandestine hub for coordinating these operations2.

  3. Presidential Covert Action Finding: Secret U.S. operations inside Ukraine are conducted under a presidential covert action findingThis finding indicates that the president has quietly notified certain congressional leaders about the administration’s decision to conduct a broad program of clandestine operations inside the country3.

  4. Historical Context: The CIA has a history of involvement in Ukraine, including supporting armed resistance during the Soviet era and gathering information on Red Army positions and organizations4.

In summary, while the CIA’s activities in Ukraine are not widely publicized, they continue to play a significant role in monitoring and influencing the conflict.
